Dry Needling

Fine filament needles into myofascial trigger points to ease muscular tension and pain.

Dry needling is a manual technique that uses fine filament needles placed into myofascial trigger points, the tight, tender bands within a muscle. It has a Western-medicine basis and is distinct from acupuncture.

It is used as part of a wider treatment plan, alongside hands-on therapy and exercise, to help release muscular tension and support movement.

Commonly used to help with

  • Muscular tension and trigger points
  • Overuse-related muscle pain
  • Restricted movement from tight muscles

What to expect

Your physiotherapist explains the technique first, then places fine needles briefly into the treatment area as part of your session.
